Bonifasia Mapunda- is a Tanzanian politician and senior officer in the Alliance for Change and Transparency (ACT Wazalendo) party’s Secretariat, where she also works as Deputy Head of the International Office. Bonifasia is an advocate of Tanzania’s High Court and its subordinate courts. Bonifasia, as Deputy Head of ACT Wazalendo’s International Office, is critical in connecting the party with international and regional organizations and stakeholders, as well as other political parties and civil movements, organizations, and institutions that defend and promote civil and political rights. She also connects the party with the worldwide media and the diaspora, and she is the party’s chief spokesperson on all international issues. Bonifasia graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam and the Law School of Tanzania with a Bachelor of Laws and a Post-Graduate Diploma, respectively. Bonifasia ran for parliament in Tanzania in both the 2015 and 2020 elections. Her ambition is for ACT Wazalendo to serve as the foundation of a new administration that would establish a constitutional and legal framework that would facilitate and enable Tanzanians to fully exercise their civil and political rights.

The network’s mission is to support and empower political parties, organisations, networks, think tanks and individuals, to grow their support, to increase their influence on politics and implement policies of good governance when in government.
In partnership with our members and strategic partners, the network advocates for values of freedom and the individual choice of association across the continent by:
• Championing Liberal policy solutions to Africa’s challenges;
• Capacitating Liberal Democratic member parties with innovative skills, necessary to win elections and lead governments;
Providing a platform for like-minded advocates of good governance, to network and share experience, skills and ideas;
All members of the network are bound by statutory obligations affirming allegiance to ensure the freedoms and dignity of all people, through establishing political and civil rights, upholding the rule of law, supporting democratic governance based on free and fair elections with peaceful transition, ensuring religious, gender and minority rights, fighting corruption and supporting economic freedom, regional integration and free trade opportunities, like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
