Jael Omumani Omunyangoli

Jael Omumani Omunyangoli was born in Kenya’s Kakamega County. She is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement and the secretary of the party’s Lurambi Subcounty Women’s League. She is presently enrolled at Kenyatta University, where she is pursuing a degree in public policy and administration.

Jael formerly worked as an administrative assistant at the United Nations Support Office for Somalia in Mombasa, where she obtained valuable expertise in training methods, organizational administration, collaboration and mobilization, human resource management, and basic financial management. She is currently the director of a community-based organization that she co-founded with other women in her neighborhood. She has always been passionate about community engagement and empowerment for the simple reason that when she was orphaned, her community leaders helped her and her siblings receive an education.

Jael’s involvement in the community allows her to teach and exemplify the necessity of women and young girls participating in politics and government and taking on leadership positions. The majority of her efforts are on agribusiness, climate change mitigation, and civic and voter education.
