Kyomugasho Jolly Mugisha
Kyomugasho Jolly Mugisha, Kyomugasho, is a politician by conviction and a social worker by training. She is the Deputy President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Uganda’s main opposition political organization. She joined the NUP in July 2020 and was assigned to represent the party in Western Uganda, which is home to the majority of the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) leaders and founders, including the president. She is now the vice chair of Uganda’s National Consultative Forum for All Registered Political Parties and Organizations (NCF), where she represents her party.
Inspired by the underlying patriarchal biases that constituted her country, her enthusiasm for social reform and fighting injustice began at a young age.
Until now, as a top leader in opposition politics and through various management-level positions, her emphasis has been on promoting unity, mobilizing more people for civic engagement, training elected officials to become better legislators for better pro-people policies, and providing leadership to her party and other opposition parties fighting for democracy, rule of law, and good governance. She is dedicated to making a good difference in the lives of Ugandans.
