Mame Gueye Diop

Mame Gueye Diop, also known as Yamame, is a political official in Cambérène (Dakar’s local government), a member of the APR party since 2008, and a candidate for the January 2022 municipal elections.

Yamame, a computer engineer and scientist, has over 10 years of experience at the General Directorate of Taxes and Domains (DGID); from 2021 to 2022, she was Director of IT and Information Systems at the Fonds de Garantie des Investissements Prioritaires (FONGIP).

Mame is one of the first young Senegalese leaders of the Program for Young Politicians in Africa (PYPA), and she is very interested in local development issues.

Her dedication has earned her various positions of authority. Former General Secretary of the UCAD Layenne Student Association; former president of the female youth of the COJER NATIONALE; former COJER NATIONALE communication officer; Secretary General of Farlu ci Diiné Ji/Layenne Community; President of ASC JAPPO; President of the female section of the ODCAV of Dakar; President of the Municipal Youth Council of Cambérène; Coordinator of the Republican Executives of Cambérène (CCR) Yamame was elected MP on the Benno Book Yaakaar (BBY) national list on July 31, 2022.

Our mission and vision

The network’s mission is to support and empower political parties, organisations, networks, think tanks and individuals, to grow their support, to increase their influence on politics and implement policies of good governance when in government.

In partnership with our members and strategic partners, the network advocates for values of freedom and the individual choice of association across the continent by:

• Championing Liberal policy solutions to Africa’s challenges;

• Capacitating Liberal Democratic member parties with innovative skills, necessary to win elections and lead governments;

Providing a platform for like-minded advocates of good governance, to network and share experience, skills and ideas;

All members of the network are bound by statutory obligations affirming allegiance to ensure the freedoms and dignity of all people, through establishing political and civil rights, upholding the rule of law, supporting democratic governance based on free and fair elections with peaceful transition, ensuring religious, gender and minority rights, fighting corruption and supporting economic freedom, regional integration and free trade opportunities, like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
