Princess Kasune

Princess Kasune, MP, Princess is currently the Government Deputy Chief Whip in the Zambian Parliament as well as a Member of Parliament for the Keembe Constituency for a second term. She is also the Chairperson of the Zambia Women Parliamentary Caucus ZWPC and the Zambia All-Party Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development at Parliament. She is also a SADC-PF executive member and a provincial trustee for the current ruling party, the UPND. She is the creator of the non-governmental organization Fountain of Life Africa (FOLA), which has offices in the United States and Zambia. She is a well-known motivational speaker, public speaker, and fundraiser.

She is the author of the biography “Warrior Princess,” which describes her poor beginnings as a teenager when she lost both of her parents to AIDS. leading her to become the head of the household at the age of 17, a teen mother, and a high school dropout by the age of 18. When she discovered her HIV+ status in 1997, at the age of 21, she chose to be open about it. Becoming one of Zambia’s and the world’s top voices, advocates, and activists on HIV and AIDS, women’s and girls’ concerns, and orphans and vulnerable children.

She formerly worked in Zambia and abroad for international organizations such as World Vision, UNICEF, and UNAIDS. Hon. Kasune has a master’s degree in non-profit administration from the School of Business and a master’s degree in divinity from the Theological Seminary.

The network’s mission is to support and empower political parties, organisations, networks, think tanks and individuals, to grow their support, to increase their influence on politics and implement policies of good governance when in government.

In partnership with our members and strategic partners, the network advocates for values of freedom and the individual choice of association across the continent by:

• Championing Liberal policy solutions to Africa’s challenges;

• Capacitating Liberal Democratic member parties with innovative skills, necessary to win elections and lead governments; 

Providing a platform for like-minded advocates of good governance, to network and share experience, skills and ideas;

All members of the network are bound by statutory obligations affirming allegiance to ensure the freedoms and dignity of all people, through establishing political and civil rights, upholding the rule of law, supporting democratic governance based on free and fair elections with peaceful transition, ensuring religious, gender and minority rights, fighting corruption and supporting economic freedom, regional integration and free trade opportunities, like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
