AFRICA LIBERAL NETWORK GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION IN RESPECT OFSOMALILAND
The Africa Liberal Network welcomesthe progress made in Somaliland, noting the development of a stable politicalentity with a democratically elected Government.
The Africa Liberal Networksupports the wish of the people of Somaliland to be recognised by theinternational community as an independent state.
The Africa Liberal Network valuesthe commitment of the Peace and Development Party (KULMIYE) of Somaliland toliberal values and its desire to be full member of the Network. The ALNbelieves that the party can make an important contribution to peace andstability in the Horn of Africa and therefore will consider its request to begranted full membership status within one year, having been admitted as anobserver member at this General Assembly in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
